I have 18 years of dog training experience and I live in Charles Tye with my 5 dogs, Berrie a Cocker Spaniel, Monkey a Rottweiler, Maca a GSD, Karu a Cocker Spaniel and Pumpkin a Lab cross.

I first started working with dogs when I was 14 years old at a kennels that housed stray/rescue dogs, boarding dogs on their holidays and racing greyhounds. This started as a part time job, until I went on to specialise in Greyhound training then spending the next few years working in various locations for trainers listed in the top few in the country, travelling to races all over England and Ireland.

After a career change and working as PA to the Chief Executive at a charity based in Bury St Edmunds, I decided to stay in Suffolk long term and in 2011 set up East Anglian Dog Training, starting with just one class and walking dogs. Within a couple of months, the business had begun to take off so I left my full time employment to concentrate on helping people train their dogs.

In 2012, I became a fully accredited member of IMDT, promoting force free, positive reinforcement training.

After having worked in Retail as a Supervisor and Manager for over 20 years I felt I needed a change of direction and was put in touch with Jo at EADT through a family member. I have been working here since 2016 and now teach group classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays as well as helping individual dogs through 121 training.

My shadow when I’m not working is a Shih Tzu/Jack Russell cross called Archie who can mostly be found hogging my bed.

I started off as a work experience student in 2016, as part of my 2 year Animal Management college course. During that time I gained experience and knowledge about canine behaviour and training, by helping out with the daycare dogs and observing training classes.

I completed the course in 2018, coming out with a Level 3 Advanced Technical diploma in Animal Management, and was lucky enough to earn a job with the team at EADT.

I thoroughly enjoy coming into work seeing lots of little happy faces and wagging tails!
I also enjoy seeing the progression of the dogs that attend classes, some of which I've seen through from beginners all the way to advanced level!

As soon as my husband and I bought a house with a garden big enough for a dog we went and found Merlin a Labrador x Spaniel. It soon became apparent to us that Merlin needed to use his brain and energy in different ways and from there we found East Anglian Dog Training’s Agility classes.

Shortly after, I started volunteering by helping in the puppy classes and learning from the trainers I worked with. A few years later I decided I needed a change in career and so I started going on training courses and I gained my IMDT membership in August 2017. I love to see how much dogs grow in confidence and knowledge from week to week and I am constantly fascinated with how quickly dogs can learn new things.

I have worked at East Anglian Dog Training and Grooming for a number of years. I initially started off volunteering and then was invited to apply for a permanent role. I always enjoy giving the dogs in day care a good cuddle and supporting clients during their class.

I've owned many animals over the years, but my current fury friend is Frank, an English Bulldog.

I'm Angel, I've grown up with dogs and I'm a regular Crufts qualifier. I have run agility dogs of all shapes and sizes for many years and I'm also a fully qualified Kennel Club judge.

My canine companions at home are Zip, Syke and Mr Jingles!
